Workshop Formats

Flexible delivery options designed to fit diverse organizational schedules and learning objectives

Choosing the Right Format

Different learning objectives and organizational constraints call for different training approaches. We offer multiple format options to accommodate varying schedules, budgets, depth requirements, and participant availability. Each format maintains our commitment to experiential learning and practical skill development while adapting to your specific context.

Consider your team's current skill level, the complexity of challenges you're addressing, and how much time participants can realistically dedicate to professional development when selecting a format.

Focused half-day training session with small group of professionals

Half-Day Intensive Workshops

Duration: 3.5 - 4 hours

Focused sessions that introduce core concepts and provide foundational practice in a single topic area. These workshops work well for teams seeking targeted skill development without full-day time commitment. Content is streamlined to cover essential frameworks with sufficient practice time to build initial competency.

Ideal for: Introduction to new concepts, refresher training, teams with limited availability, or organizations wanting to sample our approach before committing to longer programs.

Typical topics: Single-focus workshops like de-escalation basics, feedback delivery fundamentals, or introduction to psychological safety principles.

Full-day workshop with multiple practice sessions and group activities

Full-Day Comprehensive Workshops

Duration: 6 - 7 hours (with breaks)

In-depth exploration of a topic with extensive practice opportunities, multiple scenario applications, and time for nuanced discussion. Full-day formats allow for more complex skill building, advanced techniques, and thorough integration of concepts. Participants engage in multiple practice rounds with progressively challenging scenarios.

Ideal for: Teams ready for deep skill development, situations requiring comprehensive coverage, or combining related topics into a single intensive experience.

Typical topics: Complete coverage of any workshop topic, or combination workshops addressing related skills like feedback delivery plus difficult conversations, or de-escalation plus emotional regulation.

Ongoing workshop series showing progression over multiple sessions

Multi-Session Programs

Duration: 3-6 sessions over several weeks or months

Progressive skill-building programs where participants learn foundational concepts, practice in real workplace situations between sessions, and return to share experiences and develop advanced applications. This format maximizes learning retention and skill integration by spacing content over time and incorporating real-world application.

Ideal for: Organizations committed to sustained skill development, teams addressing complex ongoing challenges, or leadership development programs where participants benefit from peer learning over time.

Typical structure: Monthly or bi-weekly sessions covering related topics sequentially, with between-session practice assignments and reflection exercises.

Customized training session tailored to specific organizational needs

Custom Organizational Programs

Duration: Varies based on needs

Tailored training designed specifically for your organization's context, challenges, and goals. We conduct pre-program consultations to understand your specific situations, adapt scenarios and examples to reflect your workplace realities, and adjust content emphasis based on your team's current skill levels and priority development areas.

Ideal for: Organizations with unique cultural contexts, specific conflict patterns requiring targeted approaches, or teams needing content that addresses particular industry challenges or regulatory environments.

Development process: Initial consultation to assess needs, custom content design incorporating your scenarios and terminology, delivery with ongoing adjustment based on participant feedback, and optional follow-up sessions for continued support.

Delivery Options

Flexible logistics to accommodate your organizational preferences

On-Site Training

We come to your workplace location anywhere in Canada. On-site delivery allows for familiar environments, easy logistics for participants, and opportunities to reference specific workplace contexts during training. Requires appropriate meeting space with audio-visual capabilities.

Virtual Workshops

Live online sessions using video conferencing platforms. Virtual delivery accommodates distributed teams, reduces travel requirements, and allows for flexible scheduling. We adapt exercises for online environments using breakout rooms, digital collaboration tools, and interactive platforms that maintain engagement.

Group Size Considerations

Workshop effectiveness depends partly on appropriate group sizing. We recommend 8-16 participants for most workshops to ensure sufficient practice opportunities, meaningful peer interaction, and instructor attention to individual development needs.

Smaller groups (6-10 participants) allow for more personalized feedback and deeper discussion but reduce diversity of perspectives. Larger groups (16-20 participants) provide richer peer learning and varied viewpoints but require more structured facilitation and may limit individual practice time.

For organizations needing to train larger numbers, we can deliver multiple sessions or design train-the-trainer programs where we prepare internal facilitators to deliver content to broader employee populations.

Materials and Resources Provided

All workshop participants receive comprehensive materials designed for ongoing reference and application. These include detailed framework guides with step-by-step instructions, conversation templates and scripts for various scenarios, self-assessment tools for evaluating skill development, practice scenario collections for continued learning, and reference sheets summarizing key concepts.

Materials are provided in both digital and print formats depending on delivery method and organizational preference. Digital materials include editable templates that participants can customize for their specific workplace contexts.

For multi-session programs, participants receive progressive materials at each session along with between-session practice guides and reflection prompts.
